The night

A man walks through the concrete night
he has a laser beat throbbing against the chill that rushes from his hands
Through the trees that line the pavements he walks
listening for the gospel heroes of the past
He has drawn himself up to the full height of just over six foot
These days are his and he is the night's
Somewhere a light is switched on for him
Somewhere a light is extinguished
Here it is autumn and the leaves are smouldering in their own decay
As the stars reach the brightest stage
A bending note of music grabs and pulls at the host
The creased dome and fleshy silence of thought is moved
Oh the ugliness of sarcastic love
And the aged body stepping from the diamond bath
This is the truth that cracks the pavement
Cracks the pavement

burn off your wings
step into my arms
THIS IS THE GREATEST OF PUZZLES
Like the truth of the gods
can love's narcissism pull you from the flames?

The night it is a cage
One that withholds the wildest of beasts
Here beneath the lasers of autumn
The thud of decay
The questions of mankind and his love

Mathematics, you are a portrait of a naked man
Science, you are a pornographic magazine
Politics, you are Stephen Morrissey fucking his fist
Economics, you are  the glory-holes of Paris

Burn off your wings
Step into my arms
I Will smoke a cigarette and look at the trees
Listening to Frankie Goes To Hollywood on my i-pod
I can't explain how powerful I feel
with Autumn in my palm
A scarf around my neck
and So much knowledge running from my Brain to my heart to my balls
These emotions, maybe they are connected God, they fill me with laser lights

Magical Laser Lights

The night it is a wounded bird
The night it is a shadow for us to dwell
The night it is for the men who know the headmaster Regret
Oh! the night, it is mine, somewhere a light is switched on
Somewhere a light, a light, sacred, holy, a blazing light
Lit for no one but the night...
